An entrepreneurship event with the participation of many successful people in business was held on September 26 in Shumen. The beginners, experienced and future entrepreneurs exchanged ideas and told their personal business stories. The personal entrepreneurial stories of Fikret Ince from the supervisory board of Alcomet Inc.and Michael Varbanov from Love2design Ltd. made a strong impression.
They encouraged young people with an entrepreneurial spirit to learn languages, travel and gain experience, doing what they love, not giving up and being very hardworking, respecting the people they work with. The innovation and entrepreneurship consultant Leona Aslanova spoke about what distinguishes innovation from traditional products. A Managing Partner of BrightCap Ventures, Daniel Lorer explained what kind of businesses most often are supported by venture capital funds and what investors would like primarily hear from a start-up entrepreneur.
The TV producer Magardich Halvadjian told his exciting entrepreneurial story. He advised young people who are the future entrepreneurs to work willingly and do business from what they love. According to Halvadjian, who started his first business in Italy without any start-up capital, there are no impossible things. „If you can’t wait to finish your job on Friday, because of going to a party, and for you Monday is a day when you don’t want to work at all, then you won’t become an entrepreneur,“ predicts the famous producer.
The story of the mayor of Smyadovo Municipality, Ivanka Petrova, also aroused great interest. She explained how she organized the project team in the municipality, emphasizing that she is open to new ideas and investors. He also spoke about the Fund for Civic Initiatives, opened in the municipality in support of the ideas of local people.
The banker and financier Martin Zaimov presented interesting facts from the history of banking in Bulgaria and around the world, emphasizing the qualities of a banker, comparing them with those of the entrepreneur. He surprised the young people by provoking them to offer solutions for the improvement of two sites in the centre of Shumen – the Summer Theater and the Youth Home.
Ralitsa Zhekova from Innovation and entrepreneurship regional agency in Varna, and Alexandra Konstantinova from the Bulgarian representation of the International Organization „Transparency Without Borders“ also made interesting presentations.
It was an honour and pleasure for our NGO „Democratic Association I Want to Know“ to gather all these smart and successful Bulgarians in Shumen. Special thanks to the public mediator of Shumen Ivan Kapralov for intelligently leading the discussion!
